Music MP3
A music MP3 refers to an MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 music file. This is a patented digital audio encoding format. In other words, digital audio is converted to a different form of information. Specifically, it is encoded as a type of lossy data compression.
A lossy music MP3 may have slightly altered date from the process of compressing and decompressing. However, it is certainly close enough to be useful. This type of compression is commonly used for multimedia options such as audio, video, and images. Lossless compression would be the contrasting option, used for text and data files.
A music MP3 is the standard audio format used by consumers. When it comes to compression for transfer and playback by audio players, MP3's are also the de facto standard. It was designed by the Moving Picture Experts Group in the nineties.
