Trumpet Music

Trumpet music makes use of the instrument with the highest register in the brass family. This means it represents the highest pitch capability of the labrosones. "Labrosones" literally means "lip-vibrated instruments." This is essentially the defining characteristic of the brass instruments.

In addition to having high register capabilities, trumpet music has some other notable qualities. For instance, trumpets date back to at least 1500 BC. This places them among the oldest of all known musical instruments.

The instruments for trumpet music are comprised of brass tubing. This tubing is bent twice into an oblong shape. The lip buzzing method of playing the instrument creates what is called a standing wave vibration.
